The Pancyprian Conference of the Working Youth Bureau of PEO successfully concluded on February 11, 2025. The conference brought together over 100 young workers from all around Cyprus and from every sector, who collectively discussed the contemporary challenges faced by working youth and outlined new directions for the Bureau’s actions.
Through the conference proceedings, the need to strengthen collective struggles against the ongoing anti-labor attacks was reaffirmed, along with the necessity of intensified action against unemployment, job insecurity, low wages, and the rising cost of living. At the same time, the importance of reinforcing the trade union movement and increasing youth participation within it was highlighted.
The conference set three key objectives for the coming years:
✔ Revitalization and expansion of the Bureau’s activities.
✔ Highlighting the issues faced by young workers and promoting the demands of PEO.
✔ Organizational restructuring through the establishment of Regional Youth Bureaus.
The conference marks a new beginning for the Working Youth of PEO, aiming to better address the needs of young workers and amplify their collective voice.
