A European meeting was held yesterday in Athens with the participation of trade unions entitled “For a militant class European Trade Union Movement”.
At the meeting, trade union representatives from 13 countries discussed the challenges facing working people in Europe today. The need to step up the actions of the class-based trade union movement, coordinate struggles and broaden the forces that are challenging the EU’s austerity policies was stressed.
The General Secretary of PEO and WFTU Vice President Pampis Kyritsis and the Head of the International Relations Bureau of PEO Pieris Pieri participated in the meeting.
