It is with great sorrow that we have been informed about the loss of comrade Ramon Cardona Nuevo.
Comrade Ramon was a committed militant fighter who carried out his tasks with efficiency and devotion, in favor of the international trade union movement and the workers struggles in every corner of the planet.
As a trade union cadre of the CTC, he was always fighting with faith to the ideals of the Working Class, solidarity and internationalism, as well as for the defense of the Cuban Revolution.
Within the ranks of the WFTU, he has given great and successful battles during a period of time when the adverse balance of forces internationally was negative for the peoples and workers.
He actively supported the militant reconstruction and revitalization of the WFTU, and contributed with all his strength for the new path of the WFTU which started at the 15th World Trade Union Congress, held in Havana, in December 2005.
We express our sincerest and deepest condolences to his family and the CTC.
